PROLLY IS NOT PROBABLY X CHARGE

charge-PINP.jpg

Always fun to see little collaborations like this between brands and blogs. Zlog & REload did straps recently, as well as Hold Fast and Pedal Consumption, and now Prolly and Charge are doing a Bucket seat together. Rad!

I am very particular about my saddles. When I first came across the Charge Bucket, I was stoked! Finally, someone took a nod from the old 80′s Turbo saddles and made it affordable and comfortable (and vegan). After thrashing mine for over a year, I wrote a Well Used review of it. Shortly after, Nick from Charge hit me up and asked if I wanted to do a co-branded Bucket.

How could I say no? This is just a sneak peek right now, from Nick’s cameraphone. Expect more details soon!

[FRAME] JAN KOLE OF COLOSSI

[FRAME] Chapter Five from FLWRIDER tv on Vimeo.

This is an old post from Prolly, but since Dutch framebuilders are far and few between these days (apparently RIH is really planning to stop in the next year) I thought it was definitely worth re-posting it here. Keep up the good work Jan!

The Flwrider team is back at it with the fifth episode of their [FRAME] series. This time they sat down with Jan Kole of Colossi, a custom frame builder located in Asia.

Check out more information on Colissi below.

Jan Kole, who is originally from one of the epicenters of the cycling world, Holland, founded Colossi in 2005 to help bring custom hand made bikes to all. Primarily made in steel, but his workshop also has experience that handles aluminum. Jan himself is an ex-pro road cyclist, is no stranger to frame building, making custom frames since 1982 and has extensive experience in the cycling industry having worked in it for over 2 decades.

We had a tour of Jan’s workshop and had a chance to sit down and to ask him about how Colossi came about, the love of cycling and steel and his current and future projects.

Thanks to Jan, Livia, Sander and everyone at Colossi for their hospitality.

1. Introduce yourself and a little bit about your background?
2. Can you tell us a bit more about Colossi and what you do?
3. Bike team?
4. What have you been busy with is there anything in the near future you can tell us about?
5. So what’s your thoughts about steel made bikes now?
6. Where do you think biking is going to go?

POLIPO NEW HOLSTER

Wednesday, December 15 2010 at 3:24 pm by:

Luca over at Polipo has made a new U-Lock holster that you can use without wearing a belt. Like all good designs, it’s really simple, but seems to work perfectly. You just loop it through two of your belt loops and it closes to itself with velcro. It even includes a loop for your keys. Really nice!

Damn, I don’t think I’ve ever said the word loop this much in one review. You can temporarily pick one up for only ten euro’s, here.

GREG HUNT: IN THE FIELD

Wednesday, December 15 2010 at 12:52 pm by:

Just saw this video on MASH, definitely worth the watch. Greg has been a really great friend to Gabe over the years, and the end all for tech concerns we have had along our own journey with MASH. Really inspiring to see and hear a consolidated version of his energy, and work flow.

Iconic skateboard filmmaker, Greg Hunt explains how the unique culture became an enormous creative catalyst in his life.

SEABASE VS. SIMPLON

I love seeing videos of people doing shit like this. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching people doing tricks on their trackbikes, but hey – it’s good to see people just mashing and going FAST!

In November 2009, Patrick Seabase conquered his first Mountain on his Track Bike.

“That was good!”

Every once in a while, I spend my evening doing mostly nothing.. Well, searching the interwebzz for mostly just tattoos and bike related stuff! And every once in a while, i been through every blog, saw about every edit that sounds interesting, looked up every tattoo artist.. And than.. You’re just bored haha! SO.. I went searching the Grime Vimeo!  A couple of months ago, the Grime boys were going to do ‘Grime in NYC’ edits. But, unfortunately, it never really got that far. BUT, i came across this little vid! And damn, that was good haha! I sure hope they go out and shoot some more clips! I also heard, that Mike and Ed are going to be in the new Macaframa! So that sounds good! I love their style! Check it out and enjoy!
